Instructor Bios

Katie Campbell – Owner/Director

Katie was born in Milwaukee, WI and raised in Green Bay, WI. At age three she began dancing at Barb’s Centre for Dance. By age six she began competing at regional competitions. She was involved in the studio’s competitive dance program; which traveled throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota competing various routines. Katie also worked for the studio at the front desk and in the studio store. As a junior in high school Katie competed in her first National competition in Myrtle Beach, SC. Her senior year she competed in Orlando, FL. Katie was also on her high school dance team; which also competed at Badgerette Competitions in Illinois. After high school graduation, Katie attended Carroll University (formerly Carroll College) where she majored in Psychology and minored in Communications. She was also on Carroll University’s dance team, The Blaze. In 2000 Katie started teaching dance classes at the Waukesha YWCA and then moved to two other studios before opening her own dance studio, AMP’d Limited. Katie graduated with a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. With her M.S. she hopes to implement special needs and mental health based programs at AMP’d Limited. She currently lives in Lake Mills, WI and is engaged to be married in August 2012.

Crystal Farrow – Competitive Director/Costuming

Crystal  began dancing at the age of three at Kim’s School of Dance and Tumbling, Moline, IL. Four years later she started competing and performing for audiences. As her dance career progressed, she began teaching classes to other students. Crystal qualified for and competed at national competitions on four occasions. Crystal is married with two children, who are students at AMP’d Limited. She owns and operates an accounting firm with her husband in Menomonee Falls, WI. Crystal is passionate about dance and hopes to help dancers develop their own love for dance. AMP’d Limited is excited to have Crystal as an instructor.
Amanda Runte – Ballet Instructor
Amanda Runte is from Lake Mills, WI, where she began her dance training through the Lake Mills Ballet Studio while in elementary school. She continued her training with Monona Academy of Dance in Monona, WI, and participated in competition as an eighth grader. She has performed in various performances throughout the years and trained mainly in Modern, Tap, Jazz and Ballet. Amanda graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, where she was Captain of her wrestling cheerleading team. She also spent a season on Lakeside’s football dance team. She attended college at UW-Milwaukee, where she attended Belly Dancing, Modern, and Ballet classes and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2010. Amanda also began dancing Salsa in her final year of college. In 2011, Amanda began teaching Ballroom dance out of Madison, WI. She is currently teaching Ballet Technique at AMP’d Limited in Waukesha, WI. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing the students progress and be successful in their dancing.
Alex Johnson – Hip Hop Instructor
Alex Johnson is 22 years old and was born and raised in the city of Chicago. It wasn’t until his senior year of high school that he began dancing. He started a Hip Hop Step teak for his high school. For there he moved on to Marquette University where he began taking hip hop more serious, after joining Hype Dance Team. During sophomore year he discovered lyrical and jazz and from there he has been fusing styles together to create choreography. He has been on Hype for four years and has led the team as captain for the two. AMP’d is extremely lucky and excited to have Alex on staff!
